03/06/2026The love that chose Sicily between Baroque and history
Some love stories begin in a place. Others become the place you are meant to return to.
Ilenia was living in Germany with her family, yet every summer she would return to Sicily for the holidays. During one of those visits, she met Salvo. She was very young, and he already knew that meeting her would change his life forever.
That summer changed everything. Ilenia realized her future was with him, in Sicily, and chose to stay.
Their journey together, however, was not without challenges. Salvo joined the Carabinieri, a career that took him far from the island, all the way to northern Italy. Their relationship was built on waiting, distance, and postponed embraces.
Until the moment came when Salvo decided not to wait any longer. He asked her to marry him.
The ceremony in the heart of Sicilian Baroque
The ceremony took place in the magnificent Church of San Pietro in Modica, one of the most representative symbols of Sicilian Baroque. Its grand staircase, architectural decorations, and luminous interiors created a solemn and radiant atmosphere, making their vows even more meaningful. A place where art, history, and spirituality blend seamlessly into the story of the wedding.
Young, deeply in love, and strongly connected to their homeland, they dreamed of a wedding that would tell the story of Sicily through its history and atmosphere.
For them, I proposed an ancient Sicilian feudo (a traditional aristocratic estate), set in the countryside of Ragusa, surrounded by nature, with stone courtyards, grand staircases, and noble gardens.
A place capable of evoking distant eras, passions, and stories that feel as though they belong in a novel.
Dinner in the historic courtyard
Dinner took place in the main courtyard of the feudo, under the Sicilian sky. Long imperial tables were elegantly set, with a breathtaking canopy of suspended lights above and a refined candlelit ambiance that illuminated faces and reflected on the ancient stone walls.
At one point, Salvo and Ilenia walked alone into the center of the courtyard. From the grand staircase, a singer and musicians performed a traditional Sicilian song. Just voices, instruments, night air, and two young people looking at each other as if nothing else existed. A deeply emotional and authentic moment.
The Couple's Table
The couple’s table was a true statement piece: a lush backdrop entirely covered in greenery and flowers framed them, transforming their seating area into an elegant and natural scenic setting.
Cake cutting under the gazebo
The cake cutting took place beneath a romantic gazebo in the historic garden, whose atmosphere became iconic after appearing in the film adaptation of Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. Soft lights and evening scents surrounded the couple in a finale that felt both intimate and cinematic.
Then, just celebration
After the emotional moments, Salvo and Ilenia danced and celebrated with friends and family late into the night. Their wedding was not only an elegant event in Sicily, but a return to their roots and a promise of love intertwined with the timeless beauty of their land.

The words of the spouses
Salvo e Ilenia, 09/08/2025
A fairytale wedding ❤️ What can I say about Rossella? She's a highly trained and qualified wedding planner, attentive to every detail, and her team is incredibly professional and impeccable at the same time. What I can say about her is that she made our dream come true, based on what we said, she created the harmony and structure of the wedding with just words, and for this I will be forever grateful to her. What I can say is that every guest at my wedding said it was a fairytale wedding, and I owe this to her and her staff. Thank you for everything, Ilenia and Salvo. ❤️
